he Communications and Digital Ministry has suspended the electronic system provider (PSE) registration certificates tied to cryptocurrency token Worldcoin and digital identity platform World ID. Both services are operated by Tools for Humanity (TFH), a tech company cofounded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
The move follows public complaints over alleged “suspicious activities” involving the services in Bekasi, West Java.
The ministry said PT Terang Bulan Abadi, which operates World ID in Indonesia, had not registered as a PSE and lacked the required certification. Meanwhile, Worldcoin is reportedly using a registration certificate belonging to another entity, PT Sandina Abadi Nusantara.
“This suspension is a preventive measure to mitigate potential public risks. We will also summon PT Terang Bulan Abadi for formal clarification soon,” Alexander Sabar, the ministry’s digital monitoring director general, said in a statement on Sunday.
He also urged the public to play an active role in maintaining a safe and trustworthy digital space by staying alert to unauthorized digital services and promptly reporting any suspected violations through official channels.
