our comments on the plan of the National Police to create an anti-anarchy detachment, designed to clamp down on riots and handle violent clashes:

I don’t think it’s necessary. Why not just optimize the one that already exists and start taking action?

It is a nice idea. How about an anti-corruption detachment?

Anarchy derived from the Greek word anarchos which means “without leaders”, not without order.
Anarchy has nothing to do with violence or chaos. It’s a philosophical way of thinking which holds that all men and women are created equal and they are free to do whatever they please to reach their potential in respect to others’ freedom.
An anti-anarchy detachment unit would mean that such a unit would be responsible to apprehend and arrest anarchist movement groups, such as the Save Mentawai and Jalin Merapi movements, which are free from any government interventions.
It would also mean that independent film directors and musicians are subject to arrest by the unit because all of the indie movements in the country are based on the anarchist spirit.
This detachment unit is simply a joke, a waste of funds and could potentially lead to coercive pressures on independent, non-government, civilian movements.

Creating such a special force only confirms the fact that the National Police could not carry out their duties. The vision for the National Police is clearly to protect and serve the citizens. That means protecting citizens from riots is part of their job — not necessarily establishing a new detachment.

The plan to set up an Anti-anarchy detachment should not be endorsed as this only reflects the incapability of the police force.
The authority that will be given to the officers to shoot on sight will only increase the anarchic acts and will spread violence.
Instead of establishing a new organization they should improve the skills of the existing units.

I just hope that by setting up this detachment it can minimize the violence across the country. Try not to solve anarchy with anarchy. Persuasive action must be taken to minimize the victims.

Please make sure the detachment isn’t just a waste of time, or money, not to mention incapable of handling violence.
