National Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar said they were allegedly involved in terror operations in the two major cities, and in weapons smuggling from the Philippines.
The terrorist suspects allegedly smuggled weapons into Indonesia via the Malaysian town of Tawau and Indonesian cities of Nunukan, Palu and Surabaya, Boy added.
The police secured firearms from the suspects; five of whom were arrested in Jakarta and two in Surabaya.
