JAKARTA: FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp
AKARTA: FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, announced on Monday that it will shorten the transit time for non-document shipment from Asia Pacific to Italy to one day, starting Oct. 24.
FedEx’s customers in Asia Pacific, including those in Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, will benefit from faster shipment to Italy at the same rate.
Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency, Indonesian export volume from Indonesia to Italy in the first eight months of 2011 reached US$2.31 billion, a 51 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
“FedEx will continue introducing service improvements to provide the most flexible and comfortable express transport service,” FedEx managing director for Indonesia and the Philippines, Rhicke Jennings, said in a media statement.
“Our Indonesian customers, especially in the garment and textile industries, can now benefit from the shorter transit time to be more competitive in the emerging market.”
FedEx is committed to facilitating trade routes between Asia Pacific and Europe and has increased its direct service from Hong Kong to Paris, and expanded the Economy International service from Asia to Europe by adding 11 more destinations for a total of 36 locations.
