The former mayor of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Daniel Adoe, will stand trial on Wednesday on charges of corruption.
Daniel is accused of embezzling Rp 2.6 billion (US$ 222,831) in state funds for the procurement of books in 2010 together with a number of regional officials, Agus Komarudin, spokesman of the Kupang Corruption Court, said as reported by Antara news agency.
The NTT High Prosecutor's Office has also submitted the dossiers of five other suspects in the case, namely members of the procurement committee - Fransiskus Kemis, Sahidi Djahilape, Simon Bunga, Evi Herlina Rata and Agustinus Kia Bala Miten, Agus said in Kupang on Wednesday.
Two other suspects, the contractor Budi Harto and a senior official of the city administration, Cornelis Kapitan, were arrested earlier.
Altogether there are 13 suspects in the corruption case, including officials of the city administration, the city education, youth and sport office and contractor, with the prosecution questioning 42 witnesses.
