obile banking is the most used electronic bankingservice channel, thanks to the increasing use of the Internet, according tomarket research firm Kadence International.
Sixty-seven of the 453 respondents surveyed in four big cities used mobile banking, followed by Internet banking with 54 percent and phone banking with 28 percent, says the research.
Mobile banking uses software that allows customers to check account information, make transfers and pay credit card bills using a smartphone.
Kadence International Indonesia associate director of quantitative Fahmi Afandi said on Thursday that the high percentage of mobile banking use was attributed to the increasing number of Internet and smartphone users, as well as the increasing number of banks that facilitated the service.
'The security level, access speed and an easier process of registration are among the major aspects when customers consider choosing an electronic channel,' he said.
He, however, said customers continued to use automated teller machines for bank transactions in addition to using electronic banking channels.
