JAKARTA: Radio host and master of ceremonies Arie Dagienkz says that he was surprised by the cast of Wayang Orang Rock Ekalaya (WORE), a live production he directed.

The show on March 15 was about Ekalaya, a wise king in shadow puppetry, which was presented with a modern twist, including rock music elements.

Arie said he was surprised that his players had improvised during the show.

'€œThe show was so different [from rehearsals]. They could have improvised by about 30 percent. However, they were great,'€ said Arie as quoted by tribunnews.com, adding that he didn'€™t mind them improvising as most of his performers did not have acting backgrounds.

Receiving a warm welcome from the audience, Arie said he was proud of his cast for putting on such a successful live
production, despite spending only about two months rehearsing.
