JAKARTA: Dangdut diva Inul Daratista has been reported to the police over alleged violations of copyrights at her chain of karaoke lounges, Inul Vista.
The report was made by Nagaswara label director Rahayu Kertawiguna, tribunnews.com reported on Wednesday.
Inul declined to comment on the allegations, saying that the police would investigate.
'Let's just see,' she said.
The 35-year-old previously said that she had paid royalties to producer and distributor associations Karya Cipta Indonesia (KCI) and Wahana Musik Indonesia (WAMI).
In her report to the National Police, Rahayu accused Inul of violating the rights of producers and songwriters by using the works of musicians under the Nagaswara label.
Inul, the owner of the ubiquitous karaoke franchise, currently operates over 80 outlets across the country, and has plans to expand her business to neighboring Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.
