Nobel prize winner Muhammad Yunus has encouraged Indonesia's graduates to become entrepreneurs, instead of working for other companies.
Yunus, the Bangladeshi banker and economist, shared his advice on Wednesday at the 2015 New Cities Summit in Jakarta.
'You should not be thinking about being a job seeker, but a job creator,' he said in his keynote speech.
He added that the young generation had creative potential.
'Why do you waste your time working for somebody else?' he said.
Yunus said many young people came to him with many ideas on business and partnerships.
'The entrepreneurship eventually will create jobs for other people,' he said.
The New Cities Summit is a three-day event gathering hundreds of global thinkers, activists, government officials, academics, entrepreneurs and CEOs to discuss urban development issues. (cor/ika) (++++)
