olice on Tuesday named 16 men suspects following a brawl in Medan on Saturday between supporters of youth organizations Ikatan Pemuda Karya (IPK) and Pemuda Pancasila (PP) in Medan. Two died in the clash.
North Sumatra Police Chief Insp. Gen. Ngadino said that police had initially detained 144 people suspected of involvement in the contretemps.
Ngadino said that of the 16, seven were alleged perpetrators of assaults that led to two deaths, while nine others were suspected of the possession of guns and sharp weapons.
'Five of the seven were perpetrators of the assault that killed Roy Silaban, while the other two were perpetrators of the assault that killed Monang Hutabarat,' Ngadino told reporters on Tuesday.
The five suspects in the attack on Roy Silaban were identified as Sarimuda Palawi, 40, and Jamaludin, 65, both of Namorambe, Deli Serdang, and Aulia Putra Hendrawan Nasution, 20, M. Fadillah Lubis, 20, and Agam Mispi, 46, all of Jl. Brigjen Katamso in Medan.
