otte Mart is planning to add five new outlets in Indonesia, including hypermarkets in Jakarta and Surabaya, as part of the South Korean company's efforts to achieve double-digit growth this year.
Lotte Mart Indonesia commercial director Donny S Handoko said the company would add at least five outlets, including two hypermarkets, if all the preconditions were met. Indonesia's two largest cities, Jakarta and Surabaya, have been chosen as the sites of new hypermarkets in the second half of 2016.
In total, the management will add five new outlets in the country this year, taking its total to 46. As of 2015, Lotte Mart ran 41 outlets, including 14 hypermarket outlets, 25 wholesales outlets and two supermarket outlets.
“We will also add more lifestyle areas such as beauty products and garments,” said Donny, as quoted by Kontan.co.id on Friday.
The company, he added, will cooperate with Indonesian conglomerate Salim Group to create an online retail site due for launch later this year. (ags)
