our suspected terrorists, who were arrested on Sunday, had been renting a floating house at Jatiluhur reservoir in Purwakarta regency, West Java, for two days purportedly for fishing.
“The four people came here on Saturday. They said they wanted to fish,” the floating house owner Oman, 56, said on Monday as reported by kompas.com.
Oman claimed that he was not suspicious as the suspected terrorists brought fishing equipment like any other anglers.
“So, that’s why I was not suspicious. I rented the house,” he said, adding the suspects also carried three backpacks.

Oman said he visited the house on Sunday and met the suspects. Oman then accompanied two of the suspects to buy breakfast away from the reservoir. But Oman was surprised when officers from the National Police’s counterterrorism squad Densus 88 raided the house few hours later.
The officers shot dead two of the men, identified as Abu Sovi, aka Abu Azis, from Bandung, West Java, and Abu Faiz from West Bandung regency and arrested the remaining two, identified as Rizal, alias Abu Marham, and Ivan Rahmat Syarif who were residents of Ngamprah, West Bandung.
Police said earlier that the suspects were believed to be planning to blow up Jatiluhur dam, one of the largest dams in the country during the Christmas and New Year Eve celebrations.
The bodies of the suspects have been sent to Bhayangkara Police Hospital in East Java for post mortem examinations.
Last week, police shot dead three suspected terrorists in South Tangerang, Banten, who were also believed to be planning to carry out acts of terrorism during the Christmas and New Year Eve celebrations. (jun)
