oll road operator PT Jasa Marga plans to propose to the government the construction of a 40-kilometer elevated road to connect Cawang in East Jakarta, Pluit in North Jakarta and Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang.
Jasa Marga development director Hasanuddin said Wednesday that the idea would be proposed to the government within the next two or three months. He added that the road would be able to accommodate the increase of passengers at the airport, which was expected to have 70 million passengers per year.
“It needs infrastructure to accommodate passengers and goods mobilization; one of the solutions is a toll road,” he said as quoted by tempo.co.

Several consortiums, he said, had proposed a similar idea. “We have no problem with this. Let's propose the idea together and let the government decide,” he said.
Jasa Marga said the total cost of the toll road could reach Rp 350 billion (US$26.1 million) per kilometer. (idb/jun)
