East Jakarta Elections Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) head Sahrozi said NasDem, one of Ahok's endorsing parties, held the event at an integrated health services post (posyandu) in Cipinang Melayu, East Jakarta, on Thursday.
When submitting a proposal to Cipinang Melayu residents, the party did not provide list of attendees, he added.
"Initially, the information was only that the party would donate to the posyandu. Hence, one of the posyandu members accepted the proposal," he said as quoted by kompas.com on Wednesday.
However, he said, Veronica was apparently present at the event and accompanied by people wearing checkered shirts – the signature campaign attire of Ahok.
Some residents then protested and reported the matter to Panwaslu Makasar.
Panwaslu will ask the NasDem liaison officer to clarify the report.
The committee will likely question Cipinang Melayu subdistrict head on whether the event was held in coordination with the office, he added.
