akarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama is set to present seven experts during the 16th hearing of his blasphemy trial on Wednesday
Fifi Lety Indra, Ahok's lawyer, said the legal team would first present two experts who had been questioned during police investigation.
"They are Atma Jaya University language expert Bambang Kaswanti Purwo and a social psychology expert who is also the director of the social representation study center and European social psychology laboratory, Risa Permana Deli," Fifi said on Wednesday.
The lawyers have also scheduled to read out the testimony of criminal expert Noor Azis, who is unable to attend the hearing.
Ahok is set to also present five additional experts comprising Muslim clerics and criminal law experts.
Fifi said the lawyers would present Masdar Farid Mas'udi from Nahdlatul Ulama, Hamka Haq from the Tarbiyah Islamiyah Association (Perti) and Sahiron Syamsuddin, a lecturer who teaches Quran interpretation at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University (UIN) in Yogyakarta.
Criminal law experts Muhammad Hatta and I Gusti Ketut Ariawan from Udayana University in Bali will also testify before the judges, she added.
In a hearing last week, presiding judge Dwiarso Budi Santiarto said the judges expected to speed up the trial in accordance with a Supreme Court order that said the hearings should not last for more than five months.
For that reason, Wednesday’s hearing is predicted to finish at midnight.
