angerang Police will deploy 700 personnel to secure polling stations in Jakarta during the runoff of the capital’s gubernatorial election on April 19.

“Our personnel will be assigned to voting booths in West Jakarta and North Jakarta,” Tangerang Police spokesperson Comr. Triyani said on Sunday, as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com.

Triyani added that one officer would be assigned to each of 700 voting stations spread across the two municipalities, with a focus on safeguarding the station and ballot boxes.

In the final round of the Jakarta gubernatorial election, voters are called to choose between two contesting tickets: that of incumbent governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama and deputy governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat and that of their rivals, Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno. (kuk)
