T

he Jakarta administration has set up three food kiosks for subsidized foods to anticipate an increase in prices of commodity foods ahead of the fasting month of Ramadhan.

Three kiosks in total were set up; two in Cipete Utara and Pejaten Barat in South Jakarta and one in Cijantung in East Jakarta.

The president director of Tjipinang Jaya Food Station, Arief Prasetyo Adi, said the administration readied several trucks containing staple foods.

"Every day, we station three trucks of staple foods in three locations," Arief said as quoted by beritajakarta.com on Sunday.

He said that residents could directly buy food from the kiosks without the use of coupons as there was a wide supply of food.

"People won't need to use coupons. We have a considerable stock of staple foods," he said.

Some of the food sold in the kiosks include rice, sugar, cooking oil and flour. (dea/wit)
