“It will be the same as last year. Apart from breaking the fast, I will also do tarawih [vening Ramadhan prayer],” Djarot said on Monday as quoted by Antara news agency.
He added that the Hasyim Asy’ari Grand Mosque in Daan Mogot, West Jakarta, would be the first mosque he would visit. “I’ve promised to conduct the first tarawih there, as the grand mosque belongs to Jakarta residents.”
The city secretary and each of the city’s mayors and regent will also visit mosques during Ramadhan “to give aid for under-renovation mosques across Jakarta,” Djarot said. (kuk)
