ore than 400 Indonesians and residents of Indonesian descent flocked to the Plaza Wisma Duta in Amman, Jordan, on Sunday to perform Idul Fitri prayers.
Most were Indonesian workers and students who reside in different cities across the Arab kingdom, according to a statement by the Indonesian Embassy in Jordan made available to The Jakarta Post on Monday.
“They came from cities that are hundreds of kilometers away from Amman in order to strengthen silaturahim [the bonds of friendship] on this holy day,” the statement read.

The prayers were led members of the Indonesian Students Union (HPMI) Jordan.
Indonesian Ambassador to Jordan Andy Rachmianto, who arrived in the country to fill the position two months ago, also hosted an open house.
Guests were delighted to savor Indonesian dishes served at the event, which helped relieve their homesickness, the statement reads.
Also attending the gathering were ambassadors from other countries and members of the Jordan-Indonesia Friendship Association (JIFA) to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Jordan is home to some 400,000 Indonesians, most of whom are migrant workers.
