Indonesian driver Sean Gelael is sitting in 15th place on the leaderboard after the Monza series on Sunday, having collected 17 points from nine series so far in the 2017 FIA Formula 2 (F2) Championship.

The F2 championship is one level below the Formula 1 grand prix, and the 2017 season is about to end, with just two series left: Jerez, Spain, and Abu Dhabi, UAE.

In the Monza, Italy’s runoff, the 20-year-old finished in fifth place in the feature race, and sixth in the sprint. The results earned him an additional four points.

“I’ve just collected significant points. We have two more series left and I hope I can repeat my good performance here,” Sean, who drives for the Pertamina Arden team, said.

The team is in sixth place in the team championship leaderboard. The Spainish series will take place at Circuito de Jerez on Oct. 7 to 8.

During the one-month rest period beforehand, Sean, the son of Ricardo Gealel who runs the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in Indonesia, is scheduled to test Formula One’s Toro Rosso team car in Singapore on Sept. 13.

Sean started his F2 career — previously known as GP2 — in 2016.
