Melly Budiastuti of the Jakarta Public Works and Public Housing Agency’s development and public participation division, said there were 350 illegal buildings at the seven locations.
Melly said 61 illegal buildings were found at Rusun Bidara Cina in East Jakarta; 47 at Bendungan Hilir, 38 at Tanah Tinggi and 43 at Karet Tengsin in Central Jakarta; 58 at Tambora and 85 at Petamburan in West Jakarta; and 18 at Tebet Barat, South Jakarta.
She added that the 61 buildings at Bidara Cina and those at Bendungan Hilir had been demolished a few weeks ago.
“We will demolish those illegal buildings gradually. Now, there are still 289 at several rusun,” she said on Sunday as quoted by kompas.com.
