outh Tangerang Police raided a factory producing illegal drugs in Jatiuwung on Thursday, seizing one million excimer and tramadol pills.

The police’s criminal unit head, Adj. Comr. Ahmad Alexander, said they obtained information about an illegal pharmaceutical factory at a warehouse in Tekno Park II that produced and marketed the drugs.

“The factory had been operating for three months with a turnover of Rp 900 million (US$66,500),” Ahmad said on Thursday.

Six people were arrested and police are still hunting for the factory’s owner.

The drugs were allegedly sold in small shops in Tangerang.

Excimer is sedative while tramadol is used as a painkiller.
