Heavy rains and strong winds in Greater Jakarta on Thursday caused several big trees to fall in the capital.

Based on data from the Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), the first tree that fell was located in Gondangdia, Menteng, Central Jakarta. The fallen tree caused damaged to one house. No casualties were reported.

Another fallen tree accident occurred in West Cengkareng, West Jakarta, where a tree at Seruni child-friendly integrated public services (RPTRA) fell to the ground. The incident neither caused damage nor injuries.

Another tree on Jl. Taman Wijaya Kusuma, Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta fell and hit the gate of a house at 3 p.m.

Following tropical cyclone Cempaka, which has hit several regions, another cyclone called Dahlia is expected to hit several regions in Sumatra and Java. (rdi)
