ogor Police have named three people suspects in a food poisoning case that struck over 80 people in Tanah Baru, northern Bogor, over the weekend.

The three people are YY, 40, SN, 35 and JU, 37. They may face multiple charges under the Consumer Protection Law and Food Law.

One of the victims, AN,  filed a police report against the suspects.

 “They have been detained,” said Bogor general crimes unit chief Comr. Didik Purwanto as quoted by tempo.co on Monday.

The case was reported on Friday evening after dozens of residents paid a visit to the Bogor community health center (Puskesmas) complaining of dizziness, nausea and fever after consuming tutut (freshwater snails) to break-the-fast.  

Police have also sent sample of the snails to the police to undergo testing. (iwa)
