he authorities have rescued five passengers of capsized vessel KM Sinar Bangun, which was carrying some 80 passengers in Lake Toba, North Sumatra on Monday evening.
“The rescued passengers have been treated at Simanindo community health center,” Samosir Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) head Maher Tamba told medan.tribunnews.com.
The boat capsized in Tao waters on its way to Tigaras in Simalungun, Maher said. It set sail from Simanindo at 5 p.m. on Monday.
A rescue team from the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has also been deployed, Maher said.
