View all search resultsnother sighting of a crocodile near the East Flood Canal on Monday night in Cilincing, North Jakarta, has shocked local residents.
A witness, Enda, said she saw the crocodile around 10 p.m.
"I saw [the crocodile] as people were trying to shoot it with an air rifle" Enda said as quoted by tribunjakarta.com, adding that the reptile was about 3 meters long.
The crocodile was apparently unfazed, although it was reportedly shot. Residents in the area have since been on the lookout for the animal.
It is unclear if the crocodile was the same one spotted last Thursday in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, swimming toward the beach near Ancol Dreamland Park.
Even though a Navy personnel stationed at the Pondok Dayung dock shot it with a long-range rifle, the crocodile has not been found to date. (rfa)
