he Greater Jakarta Transportation Agency (BPTJ) has planned to enforce the odd-even license plate policy at the Tambun tollgate in Bekasi, West Java, in early December, in an attempt to alleviate traffic on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.
The policy was previously implemented at the Bekasi Barat and Bekasi Timur tollgates.
BPTJ secretary Hindro Surahmat said information on the planned policy had been disseminated through loudspeakers, variable-message signs (VMS) and pamphlets.
“After the trial, the police would take action against any drivers who violate the policy,” Hindro said on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that the same policy would be implemented at the Pondok Gede Barat and Pondok Gede Timur tollgates. (cal)
