ndonesia will have its general election in 2019 and, during this period, political parties and politicians will invite musicians to participate in their campaigns.

Pop band Sheila on 7, however, has said it will not participate in any political campaigns during the election season.

“We are not interested in any offer to perform in political campaigns. We will say no to such offers,” Sheila on 7 vocalist Duta said as quoted by kompas.com.

Duta added that the band would focus on its music in 2019 and planned to release a new single.

“We are artists and musicians. We want to do what we do best and that is creating music, not being involved in politics,” Duta said.
