error suspect Yuliati Sri Rahayuningrum, aka Khodijah, 38, who was arrested in Klaten, Central Java, last week died on Monday at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta, as a result of a stomach ailment.
Mujiono, head of the community unit (RW) 2 of Desan Wetan village, Klaten, where Yuliati was arrested, revealed the news on Wednesday, saying that he had helped identify Yuliati’s body.
“She died on Monday afternoon. The police took me and the head of the neighborhood unit [in which she lived] to Jakarta to view her remains,” said Mujiono on Wednesday, adding that they also witnessed her funeral.
It is reported that Yuliati was already sick when the police took her to Jakarta, she was vomiting after every meal, Mujiono said.
“She was suffering from acute stomach pains,” Mujiono added.
Yuliati’s husband chose to bury her in Jakarta.
The National Police’s antiterrorism squad Densus 88 arrested Yuliati at her parents’ house in Desan Wetan village last week, for alleged involvement with the terrorist network linked to the recent Sibolga blasts in North Sumatra in which a suspect identified as Abu Hamzah detonated a bomb at her residence, killing herself and her 2-year-old son.
National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo said Yuliati was part of the Sibolga network and was suspected of being the initiator of terrorist acts in Java together with Putera Syuhada, Abu Hamzah, and Syaefuddin Hidayat. (swa)
