SEA Games: Jauhari Johan wins duathlon gold for Indonesia
Indonesia's Jauhari Johan has claimed a second gold medal for the "Red and White" contingent at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines.

auhari Johan has claimed a second gold for Indonesia at the 30th South East Asian (SEA) Games on Monday, when he won the men’s duathlon individual held at Subic Bay in Zambales, Luzon Island, the Philippines.
Jauhari’s victory was reported live on Monday morning on the Instagram account of former Indonesian sprinter Suryo Agung Wibowo (@suryoagung100m), who is now a talent development staffer at the Youth and Sports Ministry.
“Thank you to all of our supporters back home. Alhamdulillah [Praise be to God], the Indonesian triathlon and duathlon have contributed medals for Indonesia. And in the duathlon, this gold [makes] new history,” said 32-year-old Jauhari after winning the race.
Jauhari clocked in at 1 hour, 52 minutes and 51 seconds to come in first, followed 13 seconds later by the Philippines' Joey de Los Reyes, and then 18 seconds later by Thailand's Nattawut Srinate.

Jauhari is a former track and field athlete, with many achievements in long-distance events.
Earlier on Sunday, Indonesian triathletes M. Ahlul Firman and Nethavani Octaria won bronze in the men’s individual and women’s individual, respectively.
The 2019 Games held the triathlon and duathlon from Sunday to Wednesday. The triathlon consists of swimming, cycling and running, while the duathlon consists of running and cycling.
