The Health Ministry announced 4,617 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 538,883.

According to data released by the ministry on Monday, 130 more people have died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 16,945.

The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 450,518.

The ministry reported that 29,839 people were tested on Monday, bringing the total number of people tested to 3,827,720.

The capital city recorded 1,099 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 136,861. Meanwhile, Central Java reported 899 new cases, West Java 741, East Java 400, Banten 262 and Lampung 145.

The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (kmt/kuk)
