View all search resultsUnilever Indonesia’s net income so far this year is down almost 10 percent when compared with 2022, but the consumer goods company did see year-on-year profit grow 1.4 percent in the most recent quarter, thanks to increased sales.
The deal comes after the US ice cream brand announced last year it would stop marketing products in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories, saying that selling there was "inconsistent" with its values. Under the new arrangement Ben & Jerry's ice cream will be available to all consumers in Israel and the occupied West Bank.
The impetus is coming from two sets of players: big oil and chemical companies that make the petrochemicals used to manufacture plastic, and global consumer brands that use huge amounts of the material in packaging. These giants are striking deals with startups that claim they can transform this garbage into fuel or resin to make new plastic.
