ince being launched on Oct. 19, the Transjakarta Vintage Series buses have attracted many passengers with their antique decorations that remind them of the past glory of Jakarta Passenger Transportation (PPD) buses.
Upon stepping into the bus, passengers immediately notice a seating arrangement that is different from most Transjakarta buses. They can also expect to admire old-fashioned advertisements for toothpaste, electronic devices, shampoo, batik and ballpoint pens, as reported by kompas.com.
“This is our way of remembering the role of PPD during their days of service in Jakarta,” said Transjakarta CEO Budi Kaliwono.

Despite their antique attributes, the Vintage Series still charges passengers the same modern fare as regular Transjakarta buses: Rp 3,500 (26 cents).
The buses currently can be found serving the Blok M-Jakarta Kota, Ancol-Kampung Melayu and Ragunan-Dukuh Atas corridors. (wir/kes)
