ego—the famous toy company from Denmark — is planning to construct a building designed to look like it is made of a giant version of its original bricks. The interior will serve as a play area and also house a Lego merchandise store, a Lego museum and area for fans to display their Lego creations.

Lego House will display everything the Lego brick can do,” said the toy firm's general manager, Jesper Vistrup, as quoted by Reuters.

Designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, the building in Billund will be 12,000 square meters in size and inaugurated in September.

Vistrup added that the building would “be the only one of its kind in the world and will remain so, because Billund is the home of Lego, and this is where we will always be.”

As a competitor of Mattel— the Barbie doll manufacturer—Lego has paired with companies behind famous movie franchises, video games and smartphone applications to feature its Lego sets. (nik/kes)
