ifty-eight participants of the Wonderful Sail 2 Indonesia 2017 that is currently running have arrived in Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara, on Thursday.

“After Wakatobi, these participants will head to Maumere and stay there for three days before exploring other Indonesian islands,” said the event’s organizer representative Raymond Lesmana.

“The total [number of participants is actually] 70 yachts and each of them carries at least 150 foreign tourists from countries such as Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain and France,” Raymond added.

The tourists were officially welcomed by Maumere administration and entertained by several cultural performances and a gala dinner at the Sea World Waiara Beach.

The rally itself kicked off in Opua, New Zealand, in early June and entered Indonesia via Papua New Guinea. (kes)

  • Tanjung Pinang (Oct. 16-20)
