Travelers interested in the historical aspects of Aceh can find information in a new book published by Mapesa.
asyarakat Peduli Sejarah Aceh (Aceh History Care Community/MAPESA) has launched a book titled Crossing the Path of Aceh History. Kompas.com reports that the 106-page book consists of 21 chapters featuring historical tourist attractions all over Aceh.
Printed in color, the book includes many photos, including a royal stamp from the era of Sultan Malikussaleh of the Samudera Pasai kingdom. The book editor, Mizuar Mahdi, told kompas.com that every part of the book is presented in a modern fashion.
“History is therefore easy to understand and enjoyable, especially with the colorful photos found by the Mapesa team,” said Mizuar on Sept. 16.

One part of the book tells the story of the Sultanate of Lamuri, said to have been renowned worldwide, which was located in Lamreh village, Mesjid Raya district, Aceh Besar regency.
The exact site of Lamuri is explained in the book, complete with notes on inscriptions on graves and other artifacts found in the area.
There is also the story of Queen Nahrisyah, the first queen of the Samudera Pasai kingdom said to have been located in what is now Samudera district, East Aceh regency.
