Emirates' Valentine's Day treats feature classic champagne, chocolate

Dubai-based airline Emirates is celebrating Valentine's Day with special desserts and champagne served from Feb. 13 to 15 at its lounges at Dubai International Airport and several of its longer flights.

ubai-based airline Emirates is celebrating Valentine's Day with special desserts and champagne served from Feb. 13 to 15 at its lounges at Dubai International Airport and several of its longer flights. 

"Emirates is celebrating the season of love with its customers on board and in its lounges this Valentine’s Day," according to its statement. 

The lounges in Dubai are complimentary for those traveling in business class and Emirates Skywards Silver, Gold and Platinum members. Those with a Skywards Blue membership can also pay to access the lounges, with treats available on Valentine's Day that are sure to impress a travel date. 

At the lounge, travelers can enjoy Moet & Chandon Rosé Impérial along with a selection of Valentine's Day-inspired cakes and desserts, including a heart-shaped dark chocolate raspberry truffle, strawberry eton mess with mini heart sprinkles, red velvet cupcakes and red velvet ice cream.

Meanwhile, on-board meals include a touch of romance to complement the regionally inspired cuisine. Business class passengers can choose between strawberry feuilletine with layered white chocolate mousse and strawberry jelly decorated with hearts for a post-meal treat.

In economy class, customers will be served a dark chocolate mousse topped with candied hearts for dessert, while cake and champagne packages are also available for purchase. 

For entertainment, romantic comedies on view include classics such as Notting Hill, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and the 1973 classic The Way We Were. Emirates’ specially curated music playlists "Romantic Moments" and "Love at First Flight" feature love songs and are also available. (liz/kes)
