he bassist of Bali-based grunge band Navicula, I Made Indra, and his girlfriend were involved in a fatal car accident on Saturday at 12:45 a.m. local time on Jl. Raya Sakah, Gianyar, Bali.

According to tribunnews.com, Made’s girlfriend died in the accident.

Made, who was driving the car after the band’s performance in Ubud, is still in a critical condition at the Sanglah General Hospital's intensive care unit in Denpasar.

Made’s uncle Rai Susila told tribunnews.com that his nephew was taken to the hospital at 2 a.m.

“He was first treated in Gianyar. But at 2 a.m. he was brought here,” said Rai.

“Bali’s musicians and music industry are grieving. I’ve been waiting at the hospital since this morning with my family and friends,” said Navicula vocalist Robby when contacted by tribunnews.com by messaging app on Saturday.

According to the latest report, Made’s girlfriend’s body will be flown to Yogyakarta at 8 p.m.

“We're currently arranging [for her body] to be sent [to her hometown] as soon as possible,” he added. (kes)
