State electricity company PLN is most likely to realize a incentive-disincentive program for its customers, meaning that those saving energy will get cost reductions and those using a lot will be charged higher. This is due to the company's energy crisis.
In its implementation, perhaps only household customers will be able to save energy, among other things by using energy-saving lamps. Business customers, however, will have difficulty. An internet service shop with 10 to 50 computers, for instance, will surely incur losses.
For household use, low-energy lamps are those indicating only single power rates such as 5 watts or 10 watts, whereas energy-economy lamps have two power rates, like 5 watts-25 watts or 7 watts-35 watts. The latter are brighter than low energy ones.
In conclusion, the PLN incentive-disincentive program is only favorable to this company while causing losses to most of its customers. It will be wiser for PLN to distribute free energy-saving lamps and sell solar power generating sets at affordable prices on a credit basis to all customers.
