JAKARTA: Paramadina University on Friday granted scholarships worth Rp 6 billion to 70 senior high school graduates from across Indonesia.
The recipients -- with academic and non-academic achievements -- will be entitled to continue and finish their studies free of charge at Paramadina for up to four years.
"The scholarships cover all costs (for the recipients). They are not supplements. Each student will get financial aid of between Rp 65 million and Rp 100 million for living costs, tuition fees and books for four years," university rector Anis Baswedan said.
Recipients from outside Jakarta will also be given dormitory facilities, he added.
Anis said the scholarships were provided in cooperation with 30 private donors, including media companies and individuals.
The donors include PT Adaro Indonesia, Astra International, Bank BTPN, BlitzMegaplex, Djarum Group, the Indonesian Survey Institute, Garuda Food, Northstar Pacific, Newmont Pacific Nusantara, Salim Group, Republika, The Jakarta Post, Tempo Magazine, Waspada Group, Aburizal Bakrie, Fahmi Idris, Mien Uno, Jeffrie Geovanie, Luki Wanandi, Patrick Walujo and Soegeng Sarjadi. --JP
