Bali export services closed Oct. 1 to 3

DENPASAR: Export document services in Bali will be closed from Oct. 1 to 3 in conjunction with the celebration of Idul Fitri, head of Bali Industry and Trade Office I Gusti Ngurah Sutedja said Thursday. (The Jakarta Post)
<P> "We will be closed only for three days and we will be open on the other days," Sutedja said, as civil servants are entitled to a weeklong holiday.

He hoped that this would help facilitate the flow of exports and imports from and into Bali during the holidays. "Because if the services are not available, exporters will strongly complain."

He said on ordinary days his office processes an average of 200 export documents each day. "During the holidays the number of export documents to be processed will likely drop by half."

Bali exports, consisting of handicrafts and agricultural products, are shipped mainly to the United States, Japan, European Union and Australia, he said. -- JP
