Hundreds of university students face expulsion

PALU, Central Sulawesi: At least 161 students at the Teaching and Pedagogy Faculty of Tadulako University could be expelled for repeating too many years.

"They have been studying for too long so they are being threatened with having to drop out," rector Sahabuddin Mustapa said Tuesday, adding that any student that had been studying for more than seven years was affected, as stipulated by a rector's decree issued on Dec. 18. those who have studied for more than seven years no longer have the spirit to finish their studies," he said.

"However, we will ask all of the students whether they are motivated to finish their studies before we release them."JP
