PALEMBANG: The South Sumatra provincial administration has allocated Rp 5.8 billion from its budget for the procurement of educational models and training tools for junior and senior high schools and related government institutions, a councilor says.
Syaiful Islam, deputy speaker of the provincial legislative council, said over the weekend that the budget would be focused on multimedia facilities such as access to the Internet and computer sets, as well as tools and materials needed for laboratory sessions.
"The Indonesian educational system is now connected online with the National Education Network, in which every school is linked to more than 30,000 provincial education agencies and universities across the country," he said, underlining the importance of the budget. - JP
