AKARTA: The Supreme Court's website would appear at first to be a very advanced system for providing the public with information about the status of cases being reviewed by the nation's top legal authority.
On Tuesday, the site www.mahkamahagung.go.id reported that the Supreme Court had issued a verdict for a civil case between Time Magazine and former president Soeharto's family.
But, Supreme Court chief Harifin A. Tumpa said Wednesday the information was untrue.
"We have not yet reached any conclusion *on the case*," he told journalists.
The Soeharto family sued Time for defamation over its cover story dated May 24, 1999, that reported they had amassed around US$15 billion during his 32 years in power.
Asked how such an error could occur, Harifin simply said it was a case of "human error".
"People...can make one or two mistakes every now and again," he said.
