AKARTA: Fire victims in community units 01 and 02 in Angke, Tambora, West Jakarta, have asked the West Jakarta municipality for help in rebuilding their homes, by supplying building materials.
"I don't want to stay for days or even weeks at the shelter. It's hot and dirty here," Sumiarti, 33, was quoted as saying in beritajakarta.com.
Sumiarti said the supply of medicine, clean water and food were sufficient.
Another resident, Reno, 31, also said building materials would allow residents to rebuild their homes and leave the shelters.
Tambora deputy head Isnawa Adji said his office was still focused on providing food, clean water, medicine and shelter to the fire victims.
"That's the urgent stuff needed by the victims," he said. "I hope we can provide building materials in the future."
According to Isnawan, the office will also help victims to clean up the debris and building rubble prior to rebuilding.
