ifty students from five senior high schools in Jakarta took part in a competition to present the best collage of newspaper articles on energy conservation, held as part of the Indonesian Petroleum Association's 33rd annual convention and exhibition in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The competition was part of a joint workshop between The Jakarta Post's Newspaper in Education (NIE) initiative and Total E&P Indonesia.

The students came from SMA 1 in Central Jakarta, SMA 12 in East Jakarta, SMA 18 in North Jakarta, SMA 24 in Central Jakarta and SMA 70 in South Jakarta.

They collected articles related to energy conservation from the Post and its Youthspeak supplement and presented them to the audience and judges. The judges, from NIE and Total, asked detailed questions after their presentations.

"We think we did great during the questioning session. We've done lots of environmentally friendly projects at school, so we're quite familiar with questions and could explain well," Almira Ditrya from SMA 12, who won the award for best overall category, said.

The group received a trophy from Total's vice president for geoscience and research Aussie Gautama, and vice president for communication, governmental and community social responsibility Judith Navarro-Dipodiputro.
