I am writing to bring to your attention to the inaccuracies in an article titled Food security: We need a strategy for rice written by Johannes Simbolon and published on page 7 of The Jakarta Post on June 17, 2009.

The article stated that "Singapore's state owned firm Temasek is seeking to buy land in North Bolaang Mongondow, regency, North Sulawesi, where they plan to grow high-quality rice".

This is inaccurate as we believe that the organization referenced to in the article is the Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL), a research institute which operates independently from Temasek Holdings.

Our representatives had visited North Sulawesi in April to understand technical challenges face by rice growers there, and to evaluate the region's potential for rice cultivation and supply.

There were also other business partners from Singapore involved in the visit and the research. However, at no time did we claim to represent Temasek Holdings.
