AKARTA: The Jakarta branch of the Indonesian Red Cross is aiming to collect Rp 11 billion in humanitarian aid by selling 340,000 coupons to the public, worth a total of Rp 12.5 billion.

The Rp 12.5 billion will be collected over four months, from September 2009 to January 2010, by selling two kinds of coupons valued at Rp 1,000 and Rp 5,000.

"Seventy percent of the coupon revenue will be allocated to public health, including disaster relief, blood transfusion and ambulance services," chapter head Rini Sutiyoso said at the coupon launch on Tuesday.

The remaining 30 percent will be used to develop the organization, she added.
