JAKARTA: His long absence from television might have made people wonder: “Where has that smart-looking presenter named Charles Bonar Sirait gone?”

Well, the 37-year-old is actually still around. However, he says he prefers to focus his career on his public speaking school.

“I want to concentrate on my school,” he says of the CBS School of Communications he founded in 2005.

“Actually, I stopped acting, but I’m still doing some MC and presenter jobs,” he adds.

Not only is he doing public speaking rounds, but he’s also finishing his third book on public speaking.

“My third book focuses more on how to develop self-confidence,” says Charles, who already wrote The Power of Public Speaking and How to Do Public Campaigns. “I believe we must all nurture good public speaking skills and self-confidence in order to be successful in life,” he adds.

Charles, a public speaking guru for many celebrities, such as Indra Herlambang, Caroline Mendeng and Davina Veronica, says he will carry out in-depth research for his upcoming book.

“Some politicians in the last general elections used my second book as a guideline,” he says. “I’m so glad they did. That’s why I’m very excited about writing this third book,” he adds. — JP
