Ministers sign MoU on healthcare improvement

JAKARTA: Health Minister Endang R. Sedyaningsih and Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro on Friday signed an MoU on cooperation in the field of health in Jakarta.

The MOU is aimed at improving health services for members of the military as well as civil servants working in the Defense Ministry, especially those stationed in remote and disaster-prone areas.

Endang said her ministry was still revising a 1991 regulation to allow members of the military and civil service working in the Defense Ministry to be eligible for health insurance.

Tritarayati said the MoU would give military members and civil servants access to healthcare apart from that provided at military hospitals. - JP
